Sedona Trucking Inc. - Driven by Experience, Built on Hard Work
Sedona Trucking Inc. isn’t just a business—it’s the product of two lifetimes spent in the trucking industry and a shared dream between Darren and Jody. Long before the Sedona name hit the side of a truck, the two of them were working hard for other companies, learning every corner of the industry from the ground up. They started at the very bottom—listening, watching, absorbing—and helped other operations grow before deciding it was time to build something of their own. When the opportunity came, they took the leap.

Darren began driving in the early ’90s, bought his first truck in 2002, and never looked back. With his dedication and work ethic, the jump from driver to owner-operator was natural. He drove full time until the birth of their daughter, Jadee, in 2011, when he briefly shifted gears to be home more—but he was soon back on the road full time, all while managing their now nine-truck fleet.

Jody’s trucking roots run just as deep. She learned to drive a truck in 1990 on her family’s farm, later becoming a full-time driver for her father in 2000. She and Darren first crossed paths hauling grain to local feedlots and elevators. In 2001, she stepped into the office side of trucking as an office manager for a local company, a role she held until they launched Sedona Trucking Inc. in May 2007.

Today, Sedona is proudly family-run, with their 14-year-old daughter Jadee lending a hand in the office and even in the shop—she’s particularly proud that she knows how to grease a truck.
​
The company hauls grain, feed ingredients, and feed commodities, serving customers with the kind of follow-through and communication they’ve built their reputation on. They keep clients informed at all times, respond quickly by phone, text, or email, and work hard to avoid delays—because, in their words, “we don’t say we’ll do something and not do it.”​
Darren and Jody take pride in the fact that they started from zero—no “leg up” from family, just years of hard work, long days, late nights, and sheer determination. Between Darren’s 35 years in trucking, Jody’s 25, and the rest of their team’s decades of combined experience, Sedona offers unmatched know-how and reliability.

Outside of running the business, they’re deeply involved in their community and the trucking industry. Jody has been a member of the Kansas Motor Carrier Association for 17 years and was awarded KMCA Safety Professional of the Year in 2018. Darren served as KMCA President in 2021–2022 and has been a volunteer firefighter in Leoti for 35 years. Both are passionate about advocating for small, family-owned trucking companies in Western Kansas, where the challenges differ from the rest of the state.
